In a letter signed by Noraini Abdul Rahman (Ms), Head of International Engagement Department, International & Government Engagement Division, CyberSecurity Malaysia, announced the release of the Malware Trend Report (data from 1 August until 31 August 2021), available online on two (2) portals. They are the LebahNET portal and the Kibana portal by using guest authentication. The assigned Username is guest, while the assigned Password is guest2021!
This report contains targeted services and top malware detected for information for technical teams in mitigating such malwares. Interested team are welcome to participate in this Project by it’s management team.
However, the management is expecting feedbacks regarding the report at https://ly.my/lebahnet. DNS Africa is encouraging an adoption by Africa while giving the necessary support to this management.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Malware Research and Coordination Facility Project (Project) is facilitated by CyberSecurity Malaysia, which is the Permanent Secretariat of the OIC – Computer Emergency Response Teams (OIC-CERT) and the Convenor of the Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) Malware Mitigation Working Group. Such analysis from the Project data provides early detection of malware, assist to provide awareness to the public, and for the cyber security personnel to act accordingly based on the shared information.
The Project uses LebahNET as the data sources for research as the captured botnet activities are from the worldwide source and Kibana as the data analysis tool for the user to visualise the data from the LebahNET data.
